Face Wash
A couple years ago I was going to write this, but I didn’t, I chickened out. However, when I started to do my teacher training I realised I would have to teach kids about their own personal health. Why does it not surprise me, many adults I know don’t even know some of the more basic rules. Some of you may be wondering, what does this have to with style? It has everything to do with style. Your clothes can look good, but if your personal hygiene isn’t up to scratch, it isn’t working.
When I’ve always styled someone, I have started them with their basic care routine. To my lack of surprise, a lot of straight guys have none. Do I sound like a stereotype? Maybe, but from the stories I’ve heard, it very much backs me up. When I heard a few gay guys didn’t have a routine, I felt like I should educate the masses.
Today I am going to talk to you about face wash, and why you should be using it. A lot of people have told, and I have been genuinely surprised by this, they wash their face with soap. I’m like, no! That is a big no, no, NO! soap is not good for your face. If you are reading this, and you’re using soap STOP.
The reason why you need to stop is, the skin on your face is different to the skin on your body. You need to take care of the skin on your face otherwise you will be prone to spots. Why this happens is, the PH level in soap is not good for face. It dries it out, by taking away essential oils you need to prevent things like spots. That is why when you look at products in a shop, that’s why facial soap is its own thing.
Of course, they’re many different types of soaps you can use on your face. From daily washes to exfoliants. They all do different things, but it all depends on what you face type is like. The different types you can have are.
· Normal
· Oily
· Combination
· Dry
· Sensitive
Have a little google to help find you skin type and then you can find you type of wash. Or if you want to be a little bit more experimental you can.
For my personal recommendation, for men I recommend the Bulldog or Nivea for Men brands. I have gifted them to a lot of people over the years and they seem to work well. As I also use the Nivea myself, so I can personally recommend the brand. For everyone else, I would recommend a brand called T-Zone. This was a brand I used back in my teenage days, and it worked wonders for me. If I can’t find any of my regular stuff, I will revert to this one.
It goes without saying, look to see what each wash has in them. Make sure you not allergic to anything in them. Also look to see what each does, as some them have toner in them or other active ingredients to help with antiaging. If you unsure ask for help, most people must be educated on these things to sell them. If you have a larger Boots or friendly chemist, they should be more than happy to help you, and be educated on the matter.
I should also mention this. Use a separate towel for your face, then the rest of your body. If you have been paying attention, you should understand why. Your dying your ass and other gentians with your towel, then go and wipe that on your face. I don’t think I should have to say much more. If you don’t already do this, try it for a week and see if your face clears up. If it doesn’t well then, I have no idea what I’m talking about.
Hopefully this little post has helped you or help convince someone they should be using a face wash, as well as using a second towel. If I find out some else PSHE related that people aren’t doing, I will be back. Remember, face wash not soap!
