Absolutely Fabulous: Pride Collection 2022

Absolutely Fabulous: Pride Collection 2022

Hello there,

If you have been shunning yourself from social media, or not really opened your eyes recently you’ll know its pride month. Where a lot of companies change their logo to match the pride flag and try and cash in on all that homo money. How do they do this? They produce a tone of stuff that has pride logos or colours, or sassy saying to help get people like me to buy things.

As you might be already aware I covered my Pride Vans, which I’m still happy with. There is a dark side to all this, some companies are just putting the logo on shit and not give anything to cause, besides lining their pockets with more cash. Which is why now a days I am more aware of this, and I make sure I only buy items that clam to be denoting to a LGBT+ charity. Which is why I have looked over the web to find some pieces that I think are, Absolutely Fabulous, and donating to causes.

Primark

As someone who has had pride sliders for a number of years now, it’s nice to see something I could replace them with. This a quite simple design, with the word Proud written in on both, in the pride colours. Why do I like this time? It one of those things that is subtle and can go undetected. I know some will be thinking, why do you need to do that? Well sometimes you might be going someone where it’s not legal for you to be you. IF you wanted to wear something low-key, this is an item for you. I also like it because it has no gimmicks it’s simple, and I would wear this because I am always proud.

Sticking with Primark for a second time, is The Wizard of Oz Pride T-shirt. This one is also one of those things where someone who would not know what is, would wear it, without even knowing the meaning behind it. Just because they might like the movie. I might be generous here, but it’s something someone might be into without knowing the gay influence.

Of course, if you are a true friend of Dorothy, you’ll understand it’s importance. While the front print is iconic, it’s what’s on the back is why I love it. Which reads, it’s not where you go, but who you meet along the way. Which as someone who looks a literature for a living has some many different meanings. It could be taken from a queer perspective of meeting people like you along you’re the way. While an ally could wear this because of who they have met and supported though their journey. Love this one will try and pick up.

Hollister

This one is a surprise for many people, this comes in two colours, and I want the black one! I know, I know it’s strange, but I just like how the colour and slogan pops on the black rather than white. Live Loud Live Proud, love that because I do when I think about it. Also, since is a vest, it’s the kinda of thing I would save for proud season. I wouldn’t wear it alone, though. I’d layer it with an open shirt. I know this would be look great one someone with that very muscular body type. For me it would just be a layer to a pride outfit.

Converse

I love converse shoes, I currently have three, I’ve had numerous I’ve worn into the ground. This year they have come out with a pride once again, and I’m liking what I’m seeing. Now this one is a little more in your face, but I like it. I’d match it with vest and shirt combo to make it stand out more. I just like that it’s like my vans I’ve got, and that just the rims and sole have the colours. So, if you know, you know. As I love my high tops I’d wear them all the time. Just not bars though, I’m not crazy. I’d like them to stay white, there are some sloppy ass people in bars.

Vans

I know I have a pair of vans, but I dont have a pair of Hi Sk8 anymore, so why not this pair? Just like the ones I have and like I said about the converse. Straightforward design, but this has a chunkier colour rim, which set it apart from the vans I have, and the converse. While also lined with the rainbow inside (dont wear white socks) makes it like you’re walking on a rainbow. Can you ever have too many shoes?

Those were some of my picks from the pride collection, I know I’m missing a lot, and some companies are doing cash grabs. But you found anything I might like the look off leave me a comment and ill check it out.
