Hair Up!

Hair Up!

Dear friends,

Over the last year I have learned something about myself, I have learned my hair is going, and going and it isn’t coming back. I have noticed and maybe you have, as a lot of men around my age and younger have begun to start to lose their hair. I wish I was one of the ones going grey rather than loosing hair, but life is a bitch.

Earlier last year I couldn’t visit a barber like many others, and I had two choices. Get a bad home haircut, with old clippers, or let it grow. I chose to do the later, hoping maybe after a couple months the front of my head might come in a little thicker. Boy was I wrong! It just came it like it always did, gappy, low and awkward. It was clear when I finally saw it the day, I went to cut my hair, I’m never gonna have them rows ever again.

This post isn’t me complaining and saying I want my hair, no, no. I had fun with my hair and hair line when I was teen, now I am older and honestly can say goodbye to my hair. Thankfully I look quite good with an almost bald head so I can pull it off. However, I am very aware many people in the same predicament wouldn’t be so welcoming of a lack of hair.

The irony isn’t lost on me, that I have a very hairy body, but can’t keep any on my head. It’s just one of life’s jokes, but still for me it isn’t a big deal. I have now come to realise it is a big deal for a lot of people. Which I understand because people associate going bald with being old. Which is something I don’t agree with, but it happens. I am aware a lot of people who are early thirties don’t want excessive forehanded-ness, but what are the things that can’t be done about it?

Believe it or not I have investigated the many ways in which I can get back to the frow I had back in 05, if I want to pay out a small fortune to get it. Yes, they are many different processes one can go into if they are willing to pay for the vanity. There is a surgical procedure, which includes taking hairs from other parts of the head to read grown a hair line. Which is quite interesting, but it’s expensive. If I ever win the lottery, I’ll look into to this one.

Another method is subscription-based pills, which YouTube keeps advertising to me. Which is all good in its intention, but it’s just how long you must do this pill for you to see an improvement, and of course it’s the money. As many of these services start with a cheap month or two to start, then the price just goes up. What’s the kicker about this is, you must do it for at least Six months to a year to see a benefit.

Lastly, I have seen Chinese medicine also has a system of pills, teas and other things which can help you get your hair back. However, once again it’s the whole waiting half a year to a year to see if it works, which is kinda the downer, but hopefully you know the body works slow. There are numerous shampoos my mum keeps telling me about. These shampoo which will help improve my hair thickness. Which is all good in theory but it’s only going to help with my thickness. Not to mention the regular brand name shampoos that help with hair growth. Do read the small print on these ads and see how many people it worked for, and how long it took.

With all these things in mind I have decided to just let nature take its course. I have never really been a vain person, to me it’s not major loss. However, it does upset me that I can never just grown some hair and dye it an odd color. I don’t think it would help me professionally, but it would be nice to do for a party. I am grateful that I look okay in hats, this is one way I can change the way my head looks.

Let me think about the people who aren’t losing their hair but having it turn another color. I think it’s safe to say in the last few years, it’s been cool to be grey. Which my god I wish I was. I think there are still a lot of people who don’t like to have the grey. I personally feel it can look quite good if you pull it off right. What doesn’t help, is when people do a home dye job and it’s look like a badly colored picture. The grey looks better than the emo black honey.

I think it’s safe to say that my hair days are over. Now I’ll just have to go to the barber more regularly, so the front of my head doesn’t look to patchy, patchy. If I want hair, I know what I can do, head to Peckham, and get myself a nice weave or a wig if really wanted to. if you like me are losing your hair and you want to do something about do it now! Take my word for it, it isn’t going get better. Until it improves or you brave the shave, do as I do, find angles so when you take a picture, it doesn’t show!
