Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I document my adventures in travel, style, and food. Hope you have a nice stay!

It wouldn’t be a fashion blog if I didn’t talk about my own style. If you’ve been a fan of mine for a while you should know my style, and if you’re new to me you should know; I like to put colour into a lot of my wardrobe. Sometimes my colour choices can be in your face; sometimes it can be little more subtle. I am a strong believer that everyone should be putting a bit of colour in their style.

When I look at people’s street style, I can see a lot of people like to play it safe and go with the classic’s, of black, white, and grey. I know a lot of people do this because it’s a classic office look. Its sleek it’s easy and professional. I have been known to do this on occasion, but isn’t my favourite, this is where I like to be a little more subtle with what I’m doing. Which more of us should do more.

If you want to go for a classic all one colour suit, lets get a little creative with the colour of the shirt. Wither you decided to go with a solid colour, or if you want to go with colour check shirt, either is a good option. It allows you stand out a little more in a crowd. Also, It will allow you to get noticed; if you’re anything like me, you’ll get some compliments.

A professional tip, you can use colour in your accessories. If your wear a tie, or use a pocket square, make it bright, and make it match. This allows you to have a subtle bit of colour, and it stands out against a white or black shirt. Same goes with using suspenders, if you are the kind of person who takes off their jacket off during the day, it allows someone to see that you have a fun side. Or if you want to be a little bolder, you can always go with a brightly coloured belt. However, if you are going to try this, have it match something on your person, such as, your cufflinks or pocket square.

With casual wear there are so many different options you can have to show colour. I try a wide range of things. I like to wear a lot of brightly colour t-shirts, against my plain jeans or chinos. My number one thing is having brightly coloured shoes, this has my shoes stand out and be the start of the show. I have numerous colours of converse, so they can match my tops. This isnt for everyone, but I feel it adds character to my outfit, but sometimes not even matching the shoes with what I’m wearing. Once again some of you aren’t that brave as me, you can star simple with socks or start with throwing in a coloured top, or bottoms which ever you feel comfortable with.

I do want you to know if you want to wear colour, I don’t want you to get the misconception that they must be a bright colour. Depending on your skin tone, different colours will work differently for you. As I have a slightly darker tone, so bright colours work well against my skin. Whereas, someone who is lighter in tone, a muted colour pallet would work best. Once again it down to personal preference.

Finally, if you think any of these are like, ‘nah I’m not going to do that.’ I still have one more thing to recommend, to help you put some colour into your style. Think about the things your carry around with you. Wither that be your phone, water bottle, and bag. Choose something that is playful and colourful, that represents you.

I want to recommend to all we try a little more colour in our style. The world is already a dark place, why can’t we brighten it up. I personally think adding a little colour to yourself gives you some personality, and help you stand out. Or course I don’t want everyone to look the same, but by adding a pop of colour will help you look more individual.

When the stores open in a month, I hope you will consider buying something other than black and white. Or hope some of you might consider trying a different colour, than the one you wear all the time. As for me, I’m going back to wearing pink on Wednesdays.
