Absolutely Fabulous: Pride Slip-on Van's

Welcome to absolutely famous, where I take an item in my wardrobe and I explain why it’s there, and where it’s absolutely fabulous.

It remarkable I haven’t spoken about shoes yet. Just like Miss Bradshaw I adore shoes. Which of course means I have many different pairs in my collection. At one point I had 20 something. Which shocked a lot people who only own three or four pairs. I like to have options, and I like those options to have colour variations. Which is why this one is the ‘pride’ of my collection.

I’ve had so many different pairs of Vans Slip-On’s, some official and some not so much. However, they have always been a favourite of mine, as they are comfy and easy to get on. Which is why I wanted to get new pair when my last ones broke.

When pride season comes along, and a lot of companies do special edition they donate a portion of the profits to LGBT+ charities. Each year I see what companies jump on the bandwagon, and when I saw there were a lot of shoe companies come up with rainbow shoes, I was interested.

Which brings to me to my rainbow vans. I got them because I like the political statement they make. While I also got them because it allows me to have a lot of colour on at once. While also being quite subtle about the rainbow colour placement. I like that its whiter, which makes it easy to put one with whatever I wear. While also showing the pride flag, in the trim. Also having a coloured sole is nice, as it allows more colour discreetly and show of the flag when I cross my legs.

This fabulous because there isn’t a shoe that couldn’t be more me. As I very much like being a colourful dressed person. While being a walking pride flag at the same time. It’s one of many things I’ve owned over the years that when I wear it, helps me feel the power I’ve talked about before. While also help me bring more representation of LGBT+ in society. These shoes are absolutely fabulous!
