Let Your Style Out
People seem to think to have a style you need to follow the trend, this isn’t true. Things come in and out of fashion all the time, when I look at this season's high street clothes, the 90s are back in a big way. Am I personally going to dress like a 90s person, no. Why, because it's not my style and how I style myself is unusual to some, but to me it’s just right.
If anyone who knows me, they can usually pin point my style. They know I like the big bold colours, and I will match something to something, and this the bare bones of what my wardrobe looks like. I have socks that match tops, shoes that match tops, and underwear that matches everything. Even more recently I have glasses that match other things. This is what my clothes are, and when I dress up my style is even more simplistic, darker colours, but with a pop of bright.
Even when I am restricted to what I can wear I still let my style out anyway I can. I will choose funky socks over plain coloured ones. Not wear the tradition suit and tie colours, which everyone would wear. I’d wear a funky pink tie on my white shirt to give it that edge, and stand out. This is me and that’s what clothes say about me; I am fun and colourful.
People think that you style is all about your clothes, it's not really true, as I show my style in everything that I own. People don’t seem to realize how we go about the day shows people who we are. My phone case is a statement in itself, as it is also bright to give me that character. My water bottle, iPad umbrella all represent one of my colours, and brings the fun to ever I own and not just using black.
I am telling you all this because some people feel when I criticize there wardrobe I doing so to make them feel bad, when in truth, I am saying it because I can see you style, but I can
bring it out so you are showing the world the person you really are. That is a my main goal when I style someone, I know a lot of people are okay with looking like crap, but for me if you want to look like rugged homeless look, there are better ways of doing that.
The thing is some people would consider the clothes and styles to be superficial, and in a way it is. The reason why it is important is it shows the world how we see ourselves. I could have all the confidence in the world, but it’s not going to come across if I wear things that hide my face. Sadly we live in a society that judges us on first impressions, and I like my first to be a bold one. I know that what I wear I can’t carry it off to make people take notice of me, and I know that’s even that I wearing all the colours I am confident doing so.
