Thank Me Now

I told you to thank me later, but
to be frank could you thank me now?
I have done so much for you and now
I would like to be thanked for,
The understanding and misunderstandings.
How about for the things that have happened
and for the things I made sure didn’t happen?
Most of all I would like to be thanked for,
just being me, since you do know me.
You know for as long as you know me
I will never stop being me.
Who is free, with no strops
this will never stop.
Can I please be thanked me now?
